Based in New York, Venkatesh Raghavendra is currently the Chief Philanthropy Officer of the American India Foundation (AIF). Raghavendra promotes Diaspora and other forms of philanthropic investment in India. He also focuses on the livelihood track of AIF's work, and is engaged with organizations in India working with urban unemployed youth, street sweepers, and rickshaw pullers amongst others. For a number of years, he has been involved with many citizen sector organizations around the country—from those working with weavers in Guwahati, Assam, to child labor issues in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, to media advocacy in Bangalore.
