At InSTEDD, we work with governments, universities, corporations, international health organizations, humanitarian NGOs and local communities around the world. Together we work to identify requirements for enhanced information flow, better cross-sector collaboration and more effective collective action. Where solutions already exist, we integrate them. If another technology can be adapted to meet the needs, we re-purpose it. If a genuine gap is found, where no solution exists and no market pressures are driving the necessary innovation, we build it ourselves. Then we give it away, free and open source, and we test, train and deploy it within the areas of the world that seem most in need. From there, we stand back and watch carefully to ensure we've aimed correctly.

American Foundation for Children With AIDS Channel at BBiTV

AFCA is a non-profit organization that helps HIV+/AIDS children and their guardians in sub-Saharan Africa who have no other access to aid. AFCA is an efficient and highly effective grass roots organization that acts primarily as a conduit between the extreme needs of accredited partners in Sub-Saharan Africa and the vast resources of the western world. AFCA provides readily available, life-saving anti-retroviral medicine, medical equipment and supplies, nutritional supplements, and emergency supplies that are requested by our partners for the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS so that the afflicted, at-risk children can have hope to grow up free of the devastating effects of this disease. Currently, AFCA is working in Kenya, Uganda and Zimbabwe

Point Hope is a charity organization that aspires to be the voice for forgotten children. One does not have to look farther than the end of their block, or the edge of their town, to find more than one forgotten child. Some children are brought into this world and are immediately thrust into the cold hands of state-sponsored foster-care programs. Others are brought into this world by well-meaning parents who lose their parental confidence, and give up all hope of preparing the child for the years ahead. Each example provides enough reason for Point Hope to exist as a beacon of caring and leadership for individuals who want to help as many children as possible realize their full potential. Point Hope's mission is to provide long-lasting solutions that will benefit the forgotten children, and to be their voice, saying "Don't forget about me; I am a person too!"

GLOBAL FUND WELCOMES US AND SOUTH KOREA LIFTING OF TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS FOR THOSE LIVING WITH HIV
The Global Fund welcomes the lifting of entry restrictions to the United States and South Korea for those living with HIV. The new rules come into force in the United States today following a decision by US President Barack Obama in October 2009 to lift the restrictions that had been in place since 1987.
